But didn’t the Patriot Act create a massive new bureaucracy to provide us with more security and stability? And doesn’t the Republican Party line support the Patriot Act?

So, I’m confused here: the big problem with the current Health Care reform bill is it will create a new bureaucracy, and bureaucracy by definition can’t secure us, BUT we need to keep the bureaucracy of the Department of Homeland Security bcause it’s the only way to secure us?

Dear politicians and talking heads: let’s all get on the same page:
1) come to concensus on the project *goals*
2) debate the project *plan*.

For me? I’d like to know that I will have health insurance after I am hit with an errant stick while playing hockey, and not have to worry about it being denied for some legal mumbo-jumbo.

1. I’ve been using this handle since I was browsing local BBSs before Compuserve when I was 13.
2. I’m too lazy to come up with something more original.
3. I have owned the domain for almost 10 years and don’t want to give it up.

That’s it really.  There’s nothing sinister, nothing creepy, just a long-standing handle that isn’t very memorable, since *everyone* wants to use it.  And that’s kinda nice for me.
